Publii News: New plugin available

A new plugin for Publii has arrived: Image Decoding, a solution to speed up your image loading.

From the official plugin page over at https://marketplace.getpublii.com/plugins/image-decoding:

The Image Decoding plugin has one job, but it can make for some helpful gains in your page load times. When enabled, it adds a decoding attribute to the elements of your site which can instruct the browser to start transferring image data while rendering the other page elements, instead of waiting until the base content in rendered. In practice, this can result in much better page performance, especially on posts that load a lot of images.

Plugin Features

  • Offers three options for image loading; async, sync, and auto.
  • Works with post content images only.
  • Supported by all major browsers; check if a specific browser is supported via the Can I Use website.
How to install a plugin in Publii

Click on the 3-dot-menu in the upper right corner of Publii's main screen:

Then, after downloading the plugin's zip file at the plugin's page of the Publii marketplace, click on the Install plugin button and choose the downloaded zip file.

You're done. Access your freshly installed plugin via the sidebar's Tools & Plugins entry.
Clicking on a plugin opens the plugin's configuration screen.
